Yes, studying texts from different cultures is worthy. Getting to know how different people in the world see life and they way they do things is very fascinating. Also, when reading novels such as The Kite Runner, it makes me realize how grateful I am to be living in a safe country.  Learning about new cultures help expand your thinking and helps you to relate to many different things around the world. I personally like studying new culture because I enjoy learning new patterns in peoples behavior such as how Afghan culture is all about fighting and there are "no rules" unlike how I know patterns and traits in Canadian culture because I am immersed in it everyday. Studying new cultures is worthy because it makes us more aware about what is happening in the world around us.
