Do you think studying texts from different cultures is worthy?
Yes, I think studying texts from other cultures is worthy because every country is different. This is because of multiple reasons, ranging from what the religion in that country is, to the land itself. We don't understand how any other countries other than our own works. We don't know how they think, we don't know what the consider rude, we don't know what they value. One of the best ways to learn about a country (other than moving there) is to read the texts that country has. You can learn a lot from the text, like how the people in that country think (to a certain extent obviously), why they do what they do, etc. For example, a manga from Japan can show a lot about the people there. In many manga and anime the hero has an ability only they have or they are the only one how can stop something from happening making them unique, which helps to illustrate that in Japan people are looking for a way to be unique rather than another face in the crowd.
