My thoughts on studying texts from different cultures are that it is important to understand and study how people live in other cultures. The importance of "You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them." (Ray Bradbury) .

Yes I do think studying texts from different cultures is worthy. This is because I believe it is important to learn about different cultures to broaden my understanding of it. This is important because if I were to ever visit a country I would want to know what is appropriate in that country since different countries have different laws and customs. I also believe it is important to know of events and history of different countries and cultures since many are ignorant to the struggle these countries and their people go through.

Do you think studying texts from different cultures is worthy? Why or why not?
In my opinion, I think that studying texts from different cultures is worthy. This is because then we are able to learn about that culture without actually having to be there. We can also experience their cultural rituals and learn about what their traditions are without even being involved in the culture. By studying the text of another culture we are able to view the culture from the perspective of someone who lives within it rather than from someone who isn't living within the culture, and just observing it. If we learn about the culture from someone who lives in it, we will know how they view their own culture and also how they view people of other cultures. In conclusion, I think that it is worthy to learn about other cultures through texts because then we can learn about the culture through the perspective of someone who lives within it without having to be involved in the culture.
