Do you think studying texts from different cultures is worthy? Why or why not

I believe studying texts from different cultures is worthy because, it is important to know and understand other cultures norms. Studying texts from different cultures will give you a better understanding of how others live their lives. It will educates you on other people’s traditions, customs, beliefs, and the history of the culture. It makes you realize that there is a big difference between your culture and way of life from the culture you are studying. Canada is a multicultural country and we do not realize how fortunate we are to  live in this country. When we study other cultures we see how not so lucky they are and how much they are struggling. When we compare I  realize how grateful I am to have the life that I have. For example, Afghanistan is not safe and we take a lot of things for granted that Afghans do not have such as safety. By reading texts from different cultures, we learn to appreciate the safety that we have and a lot more.
